What a fantastic service you get from this establishment....put my car in to have the front 2 Wheels balanced received a phone call an hour and a half later informing me the car is done come and pick it up I asked dear old Rudy the owner of the shop how much do I owe for the two wheels to be balanced, he informs me that he had balanced all four and rotated the Tyres which meant he put the 2 good Tyres on the back and the two back Tyres which are retreads on the front... so when I get down there I discussed legality of it, he informs me that he reset he is VicRoads vehicle testing licence 2 weeks ago and my information was incorrect; you do not need the same tread pattern on the front they just have to be the same size and you can put re moulds or retreads depending on your age what you call them on the front as steer tires yet to clarify this with VicRoads. So I get on to the Ombudsman, consumer affairs because I refused to pay the $135 invoice. instructions from the ombudsman I start to inform him that I only book the car in for two wheels to be balanced; that I had no notification of and didn't request to be done and if he would not release the car and wanted payment in full I would pay it in full under dispute and would see him in VCAT but didn't get that far he screwed up the invoice when I started disputed it so I left.. principle of this story if you are Savvy and have a backbone book your car in at Rudy from Romsey Mechanical Services ask to have one particular thing done let him do multiple things without the phone Call informing you that he is doing extra and it will cost you extra and you will walk away without paying for anything like I did he is a rogue. Mechanics like this make everyone question the reliability and trustworthiness of the mechanical perfection............ Rogues like this should be run out of town don't understand how we still here........
